Hey there, my lovely audience!

Today, I'm greeting you for the last time... At least for a while.

As you may have noticed, we have come to the end of term, and that means our "Current Issues in Teaching" course is also coming to an end. So, in this final post, I will wrap up my thoughts and talk about my experiences on this course.

In terms of strenghts, I would say the course was full of them. For instance, it made me realize that there were actually much more technological tools that can be entegrated in a language classroom than I could ever imagine! It was nice to learn and try to use them ourselves. It really opened new windows for us. On the other hand, the course was not all rainbows and butterflies. For the course, we had to accomplish certain assignments nearly every other week, and considering the reaaaally tight and busy curriculum of 3rd grade in ELT, we really had a hard time. Our workload was more than we could handle sometimes and this course didn't help at all, hahaha! 

However, overall; I enjoyed our tasks and being able to tackle them with my lovely friends was a nice experience, I could say we really gained confidence in our technology use together, haha! 

Personally, my favourite task was the "AI-Enhanced CBLP" task. It was my first encounter with the word "corpus" and I liked learning about it, as well as creating a teaching material with it. My least favorite task, however, was the "AR/VR in ELT" task. Selecting the right AR/VR tools and sites for the material was the hardest, since we had enourmous amount of choices and we needed to experience them first to make a decision, and it took a long time.

For the students who are going to take this course next year, I would say be ready for a rollercoaster of assignments, haha! You'll be tired but you'll most certainly have fun. 😇

In conclusion, I think this course contributed a lot to my perspective of instructional technologies and I think it will definitely be beneficial for my professional teaching life in the long run.

Flipped Classroom Approach!

Hey there, everyone! How are you guys? Well, if you wonder how I've been; these couple of weeks have reaaallyy been tough to be honest. It was just submitting one assignment after another and doing one presentation after another... Sometimes I feel like school consumes all my life... But no worries, your girl handles it all, haha! 😎 Anyways, today I'll talk about flipped classrooms and our assignment about them. Let's dive in! Well, a flipped classroom is structured around the idea that lecture or direct instruction is not the best use of class time. Instead students encounter information before class, freeing class time for activities that involve higher order thinking. I think a language classroom could benefit from a flipped classroom approach a lot actually. Hey there! How are you guys? Well, I am brilliant ! I think that’s mainly because our midterm week is finally over. What a week! 😷😴 Anyway , today I’m going to talk about podcasts ! In our ICT & Material Design course, we had a task where we had to create a podcast. We were given several options to choose from, and the one I picked was this: “Your task is to create a 60-second (exactly!) podcast to introduce your own inspiring idea to improve the world / to make the world a better place to live in.” My idea was a challenge called “One Good Deed A Day”,  which is also the title of my podcast.
