Hey there!

How are you guys? Well, I am brilliant! I think that’s mainly because our midterm week is finally over. What a week! 😷😴


Anyway, today I’m going to talk about podcasts! In our ICT & Material Design course, we had a task where we had to create a podcast. We were given several options to choose from, and the one I picked was this:

“Your task is to create a 60-second (exactly!) podcast to introduce your own inspiring idea to improve the world / to make the world a better place to live in.”

My idea was a challenge called “One Good Deed A Day”, which is also the title of my podcast. In this challenge, everyone is encouraged to do at least one kind act for someone else every day. 💛

Honestly, the process was fun. I love listening to podcasts, they were a huge part of my own language learning journey in the past. So the idea of creating one sounded exciting, and it was!

I only had a bit of trouble finding a platform to publish my podcast on. Also, I had to figure out how to add a little background music to the audio file. It wasn’t easy due to my lack of experience. 😬 But aside from that, I had a great time, and I’m proud that I figured everything out on my own! Also, my podcast is exactly 60 seconds long—just like our professor wanted—which made me really happy too. 😎

In the future, I’d love for my students to experiment with podcasts and podcasting. It’s a lovely experience that helps them express their opinions in the target language, and it’s fun!

Flipped Classroom Approach!

Hey there, everyone! How are you guys? Well, if you wonder how I've been; these couple of weeks have reaaallyy been tough to be honest. It was just submitting one assignment after another and doing one presentation after another... Sometimes I feel like school consumes all my life... But no worries, your girl handles it all, haha! 😎 Anyways, today I'll talk about flipped classrooms and our assignment about them. Let's dive in! Well, a flipped classroom is structured around the idea that lecture or direct instruction is not the best use of class time. Instead students encounter information before class, freeing class time for activities that involve higher order thinking. I think a language classroom could benefit from a flipped classroom approach a lot actually.
